Operating 10.11.6 on a 2012 MacBook Pro...restarted my laptop and the reboot failed. Tried command + R for internet recovery, tried to reinstall from back up on time machine, same issue (circle with slash), ran internet recovery again, tried to install OSX but received an error message saying there's already a damaged copy installed. Back in recovery mode I did control+alt+delete and selected the hard drive for start up disk. My laptop booted up and allowed me to log in again. Everything seems normal with the exception that when I restart my laptop the circle with slash comes up but if I wait 30 seconds it disappears, the apple comes up and then my log in screen. From there everything seems fine. However, it's not. Every time I restart my laptop this same thing happens the circle with slash appears, but if I leave it for 30 seconds the apple comes up and then my log in screen. What am I missing? What else do I need to do to fix this issue?
Any help is appreciated.
Install Disk Creator turns a USB stick or other media into a bootable macOS installer. This is useful for doing a clean install (which is recommendable to do every 6 months or so), or for keeping a reusable installer handy to use on other machines.
How To Open Recovery Disk Assistant Mac
- To start with, there is a tool that you will be using and it is the OS X Recovery Disk Assistant. It is capable of creating a copy of a recovery HD then transfer it to a removable disk, thus, creating the Mac recovery disk.
- MacOS Recovery is part of the built-in recovery system of your Mac. It can help you restore data from Time Machine, reinstall the operating system, get online help online, repair or erase a hard disk, and much more.
